AI helps me! I have a lot of tests to analyze
Most developers create tests to check whether the applications work fine or not. Still, if something happens with the tests, they need to verify which are the reasons and categorize them, which implies too much time. What happens if there is a mechanism that can infer and categorize the problems for us?
During this talk, you will see the problems that could appear when you have errors or issues with your different types of tests and how the existing tools that most developers use must provide an automatic way to categorize or predict if other ones could be connected.
You will learn how to ReportPortal collect and parse the information of the execution of the tests using machine learning can infer if different types of errors have certain similarities and show you that information with the idea of validating it. Scenarios are the central artifact of the Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) process. AI is increasingly seen as the panacea for further software development. "Success" stories are often told about the use of AI, for example chatgpt. It can help the developers but also testers. There are also critical voices as to whether the results of these applications are usable? Or will replace testers? Whether testers can rely on this. If you then assume that we developers and testers are technically skilled. Also understand somewhat what and how this technology works, or perhaps in detail. We cannot stop the application of this technology. Shift left! We can, however, be critical.
Is the quality reliable? On the other hand, you also have the business that will use these technologies. They rely on the engineers, the data analysts, the testers. We as testers can help them understand how to apply it. We can give them insight into the possible cognitive biases that may affect them. Drawing Parallels Between Software Testing and Gym Workout Planning
Background
Not so long ago, I was having a health crisis. My doctors said that I need to do something to keep my health in check. Otherwise, I will need to get my affairs in order. I was overweight and very unfit. So, like everyone else, I started to look for ways to change my life for the better, which includes working out at the gym. Back then, my approach to this problem was to agree to any workouts imaginable. The only goal I had was to sweat and move as much as possible, and I should be able to turn my life around. In reality, it took a toll on my body as I was frequently injured, and I plateaued very quickly. Yes, I was losing weight, but I do not feel any healthier.
Parallels
This story draws parallels with what I encountered a year ago when I was tasked to test my team's new app. The team never had a dedicated test engineer before as the app was still brand new. Thus, their original approach was just like me seeking out to better my health: test everything as much as possible, and we should not see failures. This approach was slow and could not guarantee there were no regressions as we expanded the app. Also, I was the bottleneck for every release, as I could not keep up with the rapid changes from sprint to sprint. It was full manual testing and no tools were used.
Inspiration
After a chaotic release, I decided to draw on my experience on my fitness journey on making my team more purposeful in terms of software testing. Anyone who has signed up with a Personal Trainer knows that it is most effective when one follows a Workout Plan. The plan itself lists the exercises to do following a schedule, which muscles and muscle groups are covered and which exercise machines and equipment to use. This is exactly the same with software testing. For each release, a Test Plan which includes the test cases and the techniques used, what features and requirements are covered, and what tools to use for execution. Like the Workout Plan, the Test Plan also outlined a simple schedule of what test cases must be executed first, and what followed after that.
The Results
While I lost 10kg, and I feel much healthier and energized with a Workout Plan, in parallel, we gained a lot of insights into how well our app performed with a Test Plan. We can see what our test coverage is and verify if the test techniques used are indeed effective. We were able to better gauge how long we need to buffer for a test cycle before a release. Finally, with automated smoke testing, we are able to catch regressions each time a new build is requested. This is the equivalent of being mindful of what you eat in terms of being healthy. Our Test Plan is kept up-to-date with the latest Test Techniques and Approaches from the insights collected for each execution. This is the same where my Workout Plan gets refreshed each time I do a body check-up, like a weigh-in.

Behavioral Testing with Generative AI
Language is a great and needed tool for any kind of business. Behavior Driven Development(BDD) also aims to use language to show evidence and information about the product that we want to create. Today, artificial intelligence(AI) has gone from being theorized to being used. And it did this through language. In this workshop, we will explore the steps needed to use artificial intelligence as a tool. Testers start points are the converting requirements to the test scenarios and from time to time it could be different to define scope and purposes on that. AI could give us an idea or help with the generating test scenarios.
First, we will focus on how to use generative AI with prompting.
Our subjects about prompting is as follows:

- Chain of Thought Prompting / Zero-shot Chain of Thought
- Prompt Debiasing
Then we will focus on creating test scenarios for behavioral driven development based on the requirements and for this we will use prompting techniques.

About the Speaker
After graduating from Karadeniz Technical University in 2003 and I started working at T. İş Bankası A.Ş. in the same year. I worked in several branches for five years and joined Software Development Division as a functional test specialist in 2008. As a functional test specialist I performed as a test lead, test analyst, and test manager on several projects and maintenance demands for 11 years. I created test plans, and test scenarios, executed these test cases and reported test results. As a test manager I coached test teams and business units about test management processes, test preparation, test execution, and test tools. I also worked as a project manager in AI Tribe for 1 years in T. İş Bankası A.Ş. I am a CMMI Appraisal Team Member and ISTQB Foundation Level certified tester. Since January 2021, I have been working at Fibabanka A.Ş. as Test, Quality, and Service Desk Manager. I am managing automation test, functional test and L1 support Teams. And also I manage ITSM processes such as Problem Management, Incident Management, Service Level Management, and CSI.

Onur Dağdelen was born in Istanbul in 1994. He graduated from the department of Information Systems Engineering at Doğuş University./br During his student years, he focused on software development and web programming. At a time when competition in software is increasing and the importance of producing a quality product is increasing day by day, his career in software testing began in 2020 at Mobisem Technology. There, he gained expertise in testing techniques in various areas, including mobile, backend, and frontend. During his time here, he attended various seminars and trainings in the field of testing and tried to integrate all kinds of knowledge into testing life. Over three years of experience, he joined Testinum and became a part of the team at sahibinden.com, contributing to the testing of the iOS mobile application./br In his 4-year active testing career, Onur emphasizes creating test plans and scenarios with a commitment to quality, enhancing software quality with testing techniques, and managing outputs through error analysis. His goals in the industry include climbing the ladder of success in a professional manner and developing experience -based testing techniques.

About the Speaker
I graduated from Mathematics-Computer department of Ege University in 2015. After completing courses about basic mathematics in two years of my education, I chose to the computer option that I wanted to learn. I learned basic programming languages on Pascal, C ++, C #. I developed various projects on the concept of algorithm. I have participated in Information Technology Certificate program of Middle East Technical University as continuation of my education. I have learned to use Java programming language during the courses that I took in this program. Furthermore, I have taken courses about web programming, database management and Unix operating systems. I started working as a test engineer at Ericsson in October 2017. I discovered that the testing industry is the best place for me in the projects I worked on here. At Ericsson, I was involved in the testing processes of a product belonging to Türk Telekom's stock systems. Then, I took part in the change project in Turkish Telekom's payment systems. Then I started working at Getir as an senior test engineer. Now I work in the payment systems team at Getir.

Through my efforts in process improvement and efficiency, I progressed to the position of QA Team Lead. Since last year, I have continued in the product team with the same responsibilities. Alongside this journey, I have been pursuing various entrepreneurial experiences, both past and ongoing, to further advance my career.
